I’ll be honest, it took me a while to find a light cruiser hull that I was happy with for the deWulf. Heavy cruisers were easy enough, they basically had bulked up destroyer lines. Even larger hulls had the Elder God concept to build on (as shaky as it was), but the light cruiser always seemed to be a bit of a challenge. I’m not going to share all of the… interim attempts, unless I run across a good one or two as I go through my notes. But finally I managed to get a decent enough one, as seen here. Funnily enough it’s a repeat of the heavy cruiser hull form, just with substantially smaller side wings that are a lot shorter and pushed farther back to have a more or less even aft hull plate. I played with a bunch of potential gun mount positions, enough to provide some pretty broad fire arcs on the forward 180 degree sphere and with some reasonable fire to the sides.
The one thing I haven’t figured out yet is how this hull will get it’s “b” refit yet. But, one thing at a time!
