After further evaluation of your survey operations and requirements, Fleet Command is endorsing your request for additional survey elements. The distance from Jan Mayen to the borders of the alien ships is farther than initially anticipated. Dominion Astrophysics suggests that Survey Flotilla 02 has entered a new warp point cluster that overlaps with Local Space, which explains the increase in unknown star systems and the limited interlinks to previously surveyed systems.

Survey Flotilla 03 is currently making ready for deployment. Expected to depart Mars within the next three weeks, ETA approximately two months. They will be checking with the supply chain for updates once past Jan Mayen. Provide updated navigational and routing data to their command so they can rendezvous with Survey Flotilla 02 as soon as possible using the attached encryption key.

Your orders remain unchanged.

You are hereby breveted to Rear Admiral for the duration of this deployment, with Survey Flotillas 02 and 03 assigned to your command.

Second Fleet will remain as a distant covering force based at Jan Mayen, but can be called upon if you deem it necessary. Note at present it is an understrength cruiser squadron. Fleet Command will advise when Second Fleet is reinforced.
